CAPE CANAVERAL, Florida (AP) - thunderstorms threaten always last delay NASA's space shuttle launch, set for Friday.

On the eve of the historic takeoff, a Senior Executive said Thursday that NASA will try anyway for a launch on the time of Atlantis. This is despite a percentage of 70 chance weather would stop the take-off.

The launch time is 11: 26 pm

Atlantis and four astronauts are a load of supplies to the International Space Station. Also aboard are hundreds of patches of the crew and brooches, and thousands of bookmarks of shuttle for children, to commemorate the 30 year program.

At least 750,000 people are expected to jam Cape Canaveral and surrounding towns for the launch. Dozens of astronauts are already in the city, the first shuttle pilot Robert Crippen. Columbia flew in 1981.
