The special election for the seat of Weiner - The Hill

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D), announced Friday the special election to former Rep. Anthony Weiner (D - n .including.) headquarters of the Congress will take place September 13.

Weiner announced his resignation on 16 June, after that democratic leaders he abandoned in the wake of the scandal of his "weinergate".

It all started when an obscene photo appeared on the account Twitter of Weiner. He said the cause of his account had been hacked, but finally admitted that he had been "inappropriate" matches with about six women over the past three years through social Web sites.

Cuomo was to call the election in 70-80 days after the vacancy has been recognized.

The names of several candidates were banded, according to media reports, including democratic State parliamentary Rory Lancman, Republican City Councillor Eric Ulrich, democratic consultant Mark Weprin, former Democratic consultant Eric Gioia, former Democratic Advisor Melinda Katz and democratic parliamentarian David Weprin.

The head leans democratic.
