Suicide bombings kill dozens in southeastern Iran (Haaretz)

Two suicide bombers blow themselves close to a mosque in southeastern Iran Wednesday, killing dozens of people a Shiite mourning ceremony related media.

The attack took place outside of imam Hussein mosque in the town of port Chahbahar, border with Pakistan, IRNA reported, official news agency citing Mohammad Yaghoub Jedgal legislature.

The attack appeared to target a group or faithful prepares to celebrate Ashura, which commemorates the death of seventh century the grandson of the Prophet Mohammed Hussein, one of the most famous saints of Shiite islam.

In July, two explosions in the same province Sistan-Baluchestan, killed at least 27 people. Jundullah said that the attack was revenge for the execution of its leader, Abdulmalik Rigi in June.

Iranian officials claim Jundullah, which operates bases in Pakistan, enjoys the support of Western powers, including the United States. Washington denies any link to the Group and in November, added State Department Jundullah at the U.S. list of foreign terrorist organizations.

Two weeks ago an Iranian nuclear scientists was killed and another
wounded in separate but identical to Tehran bomb attacks.

Service television said Fars bombs were attached to cars of the victims, both by assassins on motorcycles, accused of agents United States and Israel to be behind the murder.

The Iran saw a string of blasts in recent months, including an explosion at a military training in October which killed and injured several military.

Several armed groups hostile to the rule of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad have been active in Iran, including Kurdish separatists in the Northwest, Baluchi activists in the Southeast and some Arab in the Southwest.
