We is the postponement of the Millions of Pakistani military assistance - New York Times

Coupled with a statement of the Agency of spying military officer of the army top American last week linking Pakistan to the murder of Pakistani journalist, the stop or the withdrawal of military equipment and other aid to Pakistan illustrates the depth of the debate within the administration of Obama on how to modify the behavior of one of its key partners fight against terrorism.

In total, about 800 million dollars in military aid and equipment, or more than a third of more than $ 2 billion in annual aid of us security in Pakistan, could be affected, said three senior officials of the United States.

This assistance includes about $ 300 million to reimburse Pakistan for some of the cost in excess of 100,000 soldiers along the Afghan border to combat terrorism, and hundreds of millions of dollars in aid to education and the military materiel, half a dozen of deployment of the Congress, Pentagon and other administration officials who received the anonymity to discuss the politically sensitive issue.

Some of the shortened aid is material that the United States wants to send but now Pakistan refuses to accept, as guns, ammunition, armor gear and bomb-disposal body that have been removed or blocked after Pakistan ordered more than 100 trainers Army Special Forces leave the country in recent weeks.

Some devices, such as radios, night vision goggles and parts of the helicopter, which can be implemented, certified or used for training, because Pakistan has refused visas to American personnel necessary to operate equipment, two senior Pentagon officials said.

And sometimes help as reimbursements for troop costs, which is currently considered in light of questions about the commitment of Pakistan to conduct operations to fight against terrorism. For example, the United States recently in Pakistan with information about suspected bomb-making plants, only to have the insurgents disappear before the coming of the Pakistani security forces a few days later.

"When it comes to our military assistance," Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton told a Senate Committee last month "we are not prepared to continue to him that at the pace that we were providing less than and up to what we see some action." "".

US officials say that they probably resume deliveries of equipment and assistance if relations improve and Pakistan continues aggressive terrorists. The thresholds do not affect any immediate shipments of military sales to Pakistan, such as aircraft, F-16 fighter, or nonmilitary aid officials said.

Pakistan specific military budget is not known, and while the decision of the US aid would probably have a low impact on the overall military budget, it would more directly affect the counterinsurgency campaign. The Pakistani army spent nearly a quarter of annual expenditures of the nation, according to k. Alan Kronstadt of Congressional Research Service.

While some officials have concluded that Pakistan will never type of partner, the administration has hoped for when President Obama entered the Office, others point out that the United States is a complete rupture of relations or a complete break of similar to what aid arrived in the 1990s, when Pakistan was caught developing nuclear weapons.

But much of recent reductions in aid are clearly intended to force the Pakistani army to make a difficult choice between the choirs in the country which finances most of its operations and its equipment, or continue to provide a secret support for the Taliban and other militants fighting US troops in Afghanistan.

"We have to continue to emphasize with Pakistanis, in the end, it is in their interest to be able to go after these goals as well," Secretary of Defense Leon e. Panetta told journalists Friday en route in Afghanistan.

Some US officials say that Pakistan has only itself to blame, citing the decision of the Pakistani army to distance itself from us in response to humiliation aid suffered RAID commando American in Abbottabad, Pakistan, that killed Osama bin Laden, and increase the anger officials Pakistan intermediate and Pakistan as senior military publicincluding the General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, the powerful army Chief of staff, are too conciliatory to the Americans.

LUCKNOW, India (PA) - officials rescuers searched the wreckage of an express train packed for persons trapped inside after it was derailed in India North, on Sunday, killing at least 21 people and injuring more than 100 others, said.

Kalka Mail train was in a good route from Kalka in the foothills of the Himalayas, Howrah, a station near Calcutta in India Eastern, when 12 coaches and the engine jumped the track near the town of Fatehpur in the State of Uttar Pradesh, senior railway A.K. Jain official said.

At least 21 people were killed and rescuers withdrew at least 100 injured passengers from the wreckage, said Brij Lal, an official State policy.

The site of the accident was a heap of twisted metal. At least coach flies above the roof of another person before him and was dangling precarious, showed images of television. Another coach was thrown out of the rest of the train.

The toll was probably increase as rescuers made their way through coaches and used gas cutters to cut the deformed metal, said Lal.

Rupert Murdoch arrives at the offices of tabloid UK - Associated Press

Rupert Murdoch arrives in the UK tabloid offices (PA) - 2 hours ago

London (AP)--with the latest edition of Britain's tabloid news, Rupert Murdoch global turnkey arrived at the offices of its journal U.K. Sunday to confront the growing scandal of phone hacking that led to the ban on the newspaper.

Sequences TV showed the News Corp. CEO hunted in the offices of London's News International. The 80-year Murdoch was sitting in the front passenger seat red Range Rover with a copy of the latest edition of best-selling tabloid Sunday between his hands.

Breton, too, were aligned to the latest edition of the news of the world, after the 168-year-old ending scandal paper brought in a phone-hacking scandal.

The 8, 674th Edition apologizes to let readers towards the bottom of the log, but not recognizing the recent allegations that its journalists paid police officers for more information.

"We praised the high standards, we have demanded high standards, but, as we are now only too painfully aware, for a period of a few years until 2006, some who works for us or on our behalf, fell shamefully short of these standards," read an editorial full page in the document. "Quite simply, we lost our way." Phones have been pirated, and that this journal is truly sorry. »

Allegations journalists of the newspaper paid police officers for information and pirated the voice messages of young murder victims and the bereaved families of the fallen prompted Murdoch News International to close the tabloid.

Developments up the heat on the media of Britain in a police investigation industry won't stop it with the news of the world of the concerns and cast new review on the intimate relationship between British politicians and the press.

Murdoch, who has long been regarded as a maker of Kings in the creation of British media, is facing a maelstrom of criticism and outrage on the new allegations of impropriety in his tabloid, but also the decision to ban the newspaper and to 200 journalists in their work.

Closure of the news of the world, which was launched on 1 October 1843, was seen by some as a desperate attempt by the negative impacts of the stem media conglomerate and thus save 12 billion pounds ($19 billion) agreement to support the British Sky Broadcasting satellite broadcaster.

The British Government reported that the agreement will be delayed because of the crisis and scandal continued to unfold at dizzying pace in the media, prompting more general questions about corruption to regulate the newspaper and media in the United Kingdom.

Introspection was extended to the highest level of Government, with Prime Minister David Cameron admitting politicians developed too cosy a relationship with the press. Former communications Chief Cameron Andy Coulson, is a former editor-in-Chief of the news of the world and was one of the three men arrested this week in a police investigation into allegations of hacking of phone and corruption.

Cameron has called for a new system of regulation of the media and is committed by a public inquiry into what went wrong; the head of the U.K. Murdoch newspaper operations made reference more revelations are still to come.

Last issue news of the world goes to press, the Assistant Police Commissioner John Yates expressed his regret "extreme" that it did not reopen the investigation into phone hacking two years ago. He said in an interview with the Sunday Telegraph, "it is clear that I could do more."

On Sunday, Ed Miliband labour party opposition leader warned that a resumption of Murdoch's BSkyB should not be allowed, while a telephone survey of piracy is in progress.

"When the public saw revelations disgusting that we have seen this week, the idea that this organization, who are engaged in these terrible practices, should be allowed to take for this game 100 percent, without the criminal investigation having been completed... frankly just not wash with the public, BSkyB," he told the BBC.

Buy the news of the world in 1969, gave the Australian Murdoch his first foot in the media in Britain. To align up to several other titles, gaining influence almost unprecedented in British politics with the considerable power of all the titles of his papers.

Murdoch chose to silence much in benefits, issuing an official statement describing the allegations "deplorable and unacceptable."

Many observers of journalists and the media have expressed their surprise that Rebekah Brooks, who was editor of the news of the world when some piracy would have occurred, was to keep his job as head of U.K. News Corp. s operations log while the newspaper employees were laid off.

Murdoch Saturday told journalists at Sun Valley, Idaho, that Brooks had his support "total."

The scandal exploded this week after it has been reported that the news of the world had hacked the mobile phone of 13 victim Milly Dowler in 2002 while his family and police sought desperately for it. News of cooperatives in the world would have removed some phone voicemail messages, giving the parents of the girl false hope that she was still alive.

Brooks told legislators that it had "no knowledge whatsoever of piracy of Milly Dowler" or any other case while she was editor in Chief, according to a letter published by the Committee on the internal affairs of Britain Saturday.

The news of the latest edition of the world contained a section of abstraction of memory of 48 pages highlighting scoops of the newspaper and its coverage of great moments in history. Despite the recent scandal, many believe that paper as a positive force, outlining the many political scandals, sports and celebrity.

The paper was congratulated for his role in obtaining a sexual offender statute passed in Great Britain. "Law of Sarah" was baptized 8-year-old girl British Sarah Payne, murdered in 2000 by a pedophile. It is modeled on the "right of Megan," the legislation us, the name of Megan Kanka, a New Jersey child, murdered by a repeat sex offender.

Last page of the last edition had 1946 quotes from British author George Orwell, an admirer of the paper.

"You put your feet on the couch, adjust your glasses on his nose and open the news of the world", said Orwell.

The last page was also quotes from next to Orwell Jeannie Hobson, a faithful reader of Lymington, England, which reads as an epitaph.

"I cannot imagine Sundays without you," said the Hobson of 68 years. "I always remember the news of the world for the good things you have brought to light." I am sad to say goodbye to my favorite Sunday. »

Atlantis closes in on the International Space Station - CBS News

Providing more than five tons of supplies and equipment, the space shuttle Atlantis closed on Sunday International Space Station at the beginning, the course for the 37th shuttle program and final berth for the Assembly of the laboratory began in 1998.

To 6 p.m. et, one of the four general-purpose computers Atlantis - GPC-3 - inadvertently closed himself in a process of "Awakening" and flight controllers told the crew to go ahead without it. As it turns, GPC - 3 experienced a similar judgment during a flight in 2008.

"It turns out that we have seen something like that quite recently on (shuttle mission) STS-122," astronaut Steve Robinson by radio to Mission control. "" "". I don't know what you want to do the common factors, but it was the orbiter, the same CPM and the same MS-2. "He was referring to the mission specialist No. 2, Rex Walheim, one of the four current crew members Atlantis.

"Yeah, Rex told me the story," Commander Christopher Ferguson replied.

Commentator Rob Navias mission NASA's control, said that the loss of a general-purpose computer would have no impact on rendezvous and docking.

"GPC - 3A said himself to disable itself, at the bottom, at the time wherever we go in what is called an expansion set for the appointment," he said. "This is when all the computers are grandis... in support of the appointment activity." The screen to switch the GPC runs under thought he went into a rest stop and closes. It will not be delivered in all of the PDC until after dock of the International Space Station and will probably not be recovered until Monday morning. »

The Terminal phase of the two-day visit was to begin at 8: 29 am EDT with a rocket shooting to begin final eight nautical miles from the laboratory of the closing complex.

Approaching from behind and below, Ferguson plans to stop briefly about 600 feet directly in the space station, Atlantis guiding with a manoeuvre of back flip computer to expose the heat shield tiles on the underside of the orbiter camera on the station. The crew of laboratory, with 1 000 mm, 800 mm and 400 mm telephoto lenses, will be the thermal shield in exquisite detail of the photo, then digital images to, team NASA to assessment of damage to the Johnson Space Center in Houston in downlink.

The spectacular field of manoeuvre or RPM, is a standard procedure post-Columbia to help analysts to ensure that the shuttle's thermal shield came through launch in good shape and is up to the rigours of the re-entry. The RPM imagery is combined with the photograph of ascension and radar data, with readings of sensors of the impact and results of the analyses the laser nose Atlantis and advanced wings that were collected Saturday to provide a detailed assessment of heat shield before Atlantis is disabled for the entry.

With the full RPM, Ferguson will guide Endeavour until a point approximately 300 feet directly opposite the station with the nose cone of the shuttle to deep space and module docking port to the front of the laboratory payload bay.

"And then Commander Chris Ferguson guide Atlantis for his final approach and docking with the international space station," Shuttle Flight Director said Kwatsi Alibaruho. "Once more, with a crew reduced (four), the deployment of the crew in the cockpit will be a little different, but they were able to get a good flow and we have repeated the scenario of an appointment with the crew and we are pleased to participate in this last appointment with the International Space Station." This will be a great day, and I think that we will achieve some great images of the shuttle on its final approach. »

Pending allow Ferguson, Walheim, pilot Douglas Hurley and Sandra Magnus is on expedition 28 Commander Andre Borisenko, Alexander Samokutyaev, Sergei Volkov, Ronald Garan, Michael Fossum and Satoshi Furukawa.

"It is the 37th flight of the shuttle to the space station, and the first flight was in 1998 when Endeavour delivered the first element of the U.S. and it attaches to the first Russian element which had been launched," said the post of Flight Director Chris Edelen. "This is therefore we are 13 years later, the space station is now more than 900,000 books, it is great that a football field of a club across, it houses a multinational team of six are research in biology and medicine, astronomy, physics, fluid and materials science.".

He said "space station much was thrown into orbit by the space shuttle". "It is assembled by teams of spacewalks from the shuttle and its been replenished by the space shuttle over the years.". The space station literally would not have been possible without the contribution of the space shuttle. »

But keeping the station provided after the retirement of the shuttle fleet will be a major challenge for NASA and its international partners. Two companies, SpaceX and Orbital Sciences, build ships without crew to support logistics U.S. shipments after a series of flight testing end of this year and early 2012.

Atlantis mission has been added to the manifest shuttle earlier this year to deliver a final supplies and equipment load as a bulwark against the problems that could delay commercial cargo vessels. The supplies and equipment delivered by Atlantis, as well as provisions delivered by cargo ships without a pilot European, Japanese and Russian, will support operations normal station by 2012.

"The main objective of the mission STS-135 is logistics, raising supplies available to the space station by 2012," said Edelen. "It is a key because that our suppliers of commercial cargo will come on line in 2012 at the beginning and in providing supplies, we need to go through all of next year which will provide a little place that these companies enter the difficult flight test phase."

After a brief security of information, the combined crews will get to the work of transfer of equipment from the shuttle to the station and using laboratory robotic arm to remove perches inspection of Atlantis heat shield of the payload bay, so it can be handed over to offshore to the Shuttle arm. The boom is moved to provide clearance additional in the payload main Atlantis, an Italian-built cargo module, is extracted from the Bay Monday and attached to the port of Earth of the Harmony module to unload forward-facing.

Plane crashes near the hospital; 2 dead - wood-TV.

WATSONVILLE, California (AP) - Moments after takeoff, a small plane crashed in a parking lot near the Hospital of California and burst into flames as it skidded into an Office unoccupied building, killing two people on board, authorities said.

The single-engine plane skidded about 50 to 75 yards through the lot next to Watsonville community hospital before hitting the facade of the building, said Watsonville Police Chief Deputy Rudy Escalante.

On the ground, no one was hurt in the accident Thursday night and the aircraft has not reached the hospital.

The couple had just off from near the city airport when their plane went down at around 7: 30 am spokesman for the Federal Aviation Administration that Lynn Lunsford said. There no was no immediate word on the cause of the accident.

Photos showed the charred end of tail of the aircraft keep to the construction of history, of which a part had been blackened by the smoke. Damages are contained in a region at the end of the construction.

Debt ceiling deal: five fragile pieces of the puzzle - Politico

If a path exists to raise the debt ceiling, it has been terribly difficult to see in the middle of the rancor in Washington.

Democrats are worlds apart from the Republicans on taxes and spending. President Barack Obama said leaders of the Congress Thursday that he would veto a deal of deficit in the short term, eliminating an option flottée by the Republicans of the Senate to extend the limit of debt for a few months only, according to sources familiar with the negotiations.

Continue reading decision and Obama this week to expand a potential deal for $ 2 billion to as much as 4 billion over 10 years or more - while throwing the third rail of welfare in the talks if later in the game - could get a more difficult market.

But a mixture of political imperatives, the economic realities and personal Dynamics conclude an agreement before the date limit more probable than the rhetoric August 2 strong negotiators. The potential for a settlement will become clearer after a crucial Sunday meeting at the White House between the President and the leaders of the Congress.

If it happens, here are five factors that explain why the Congress and the White House could avoid a freeze on the nation borrowing power and a possible default on its debt first.

For Obama, failure is not an option.

Quite simply, the President has the most to lose if Congress does not raise the debt limit.

His main collaborators have already recognized that il "owns" the lagging economy. Since the economy will play a more important role in whether if he wins a second term, Obama a huge incentive to do anything to prevent its collapse, even if it means taking a smaller and less acceptable agreement.

At the same time, a prolonged standoff also would a commodity more protected from the White House: Mark Obama.

He ran in 2008 as the adult who would like to order an unruly Washington, a mediator who could move mortal enemies to cower on something. After two years discontent that has damaged the image, Obama tried mightily after the 2010 mid-term election losses to revive what works well in the past, attractive to the independent as a President above the partisan fray, and the power of the Congress is fighting.

President plays a practical role in negotiations as crunch time approaches. Thursday, it examined three scenarios with the leaders of the Congress: a measure in the short term of only a few months, he was opposed to. an agreement is worth about $ 2.5 trillion; and an agreement that exceed $ 4 trillion.

Leaders seem willing to try for the world's largest package, sources said. However, Senator Jon Kyl (R - Arizona) and House Leader of the majority Eric Cantor (R - VA.) asked how the parties would be estimated at 1 trillion dollars in tax revenues for a package of deficit of 4 trillion dollars, the sources said.

There is always a chance, if thin, that Obama could pull a Clinton, draw a hard line against Republicans as Bill Clinton did in 1995-96 budget confrontation. Obama could invoke the fourteenth amendment, order of the Treasury to continue to pay the debt, painting the Republicans as insoluble and allow voters to decide.

Until now, the White House however seems unwilling to go that route.

GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan - hours after the shooting stopped, ended by a car chase and a gunman wanted for having killed seven people took three hostages, authorities in Michigan always hoped that the suspect could abandon without another death.

Grand Rapids police attempted to speak of a restless Rodrick Shonte Dantzler giving until late Thursday. They said that his thoughts seemed to switch between the assignment and asking officers to shoot him.

"He was talking about coming out, giving himself," said the head of the Police Kevin Belk. "He decided at the last moment to fire the gun."

The ex-forçats of 34 years of Grand Rapids killed himself with a single blow on the head, putting an end to the standoff with its hostages safe and sound. But the authorities say Dantzler left behind a pair of bloody crime scenes - the result of an unexplained rampage in which he killed his daughter, a friend and five other people, including a second child which the police could not immediately identify.

"It is absurd to try to rationalize what were the intentions," said Belk. "You just cannot come up with a logical explanation, why a person takes the lives of seven people."

The names of the dead are not released immediately. Autopsies were planned for Friday.

The archives show that Dantzler is out of State prison in 2005, after serving time for assault less than murder. A spokesman for the prison system said that dantzler had not been under the supervision of the State since then.

Police began by a 911 call early Thursday afternoon from someone saying that a man had admitted killing three people, said Belk. Police went to the home of Dantzler, but it was step here and officials he could not find.

It was not long before that the authorities received a call from a woman who said that his family had been shot. Just then a call on someone found four victims shot to another House.

Agents are soon three bodies in a House on Plainfield Avenue. An hour later, they discovered four others across the city in a style ranch on a cul-de-sac called the Brynell Court House.

Two of the dead were children.

Kyle Gietzen lives with his wife a few blocks from the House where the three bodies were found. He was nearby and five to six officers tried to break in the front door, while others went to the door from behind. He said that he did not know what happened later.

"I had no idea of the person had been shot," he said. "I just thought that it was a sting to drug or something." It's awful. »

Another neighbour, Sandra Powney, lives in front of one of the houses and stated that she saw Dantzler in the ranch house, where a couple has lived for more than 20 years with two adult daughters. Powney has said that she had been at home all day and had not realized that someone had been killed until the arrival of the police to the dead end in the afternoon.

"For some time we could not come outside," she said. "They do not know if there was someone still inside of the House".

Lisa Schenden lives with her husband and their children two blocks of the House where four people were killed. It said that the owners were a couple whose daughter had a daughter with the suspect. She has not heard the shooting, but she saw the suspect and his daughter to the home player earlier in the day.

"Just last night, my kids went to swim there, and I went with them," she said.

While police were investigating seven homicide, Belk said police received a report of a "rage in the" shooting.

Dantzler had apparently shot a man through the rear window of the vehicle he was driving. Police spotted him and began a pursuit which included Dantzler crashing on a vehicle patrol in the city and Exchange fire with officers, during which female bystander was shot in the shoulder.

Danztler led a sport utility vehicle North of downtown and Interstate 96, across a grassy median and position on the wrong side of the road, then more than a dozen cars squad continued. Belk said it crashed the vehicle while driving down an embankment in a wooded road, which is remained closed area hours later.

"I look in my rearview mirror and see this big SUV white coming up behind me," said Carrie Colacchio, who lives a little more of a mile away where Dantzler takes no later than its three hostages. "The only way out was to push the Accelerator".

Colacchio said that it could not step turn off the road or slow or go in any other way, and it reached about 85 mph.

"I almost me am struck," she said. "I had to ride on the sidewalk."

In signe of how close to home for Mr Cameron scandal hits, this former assistant - Andy Coulson, a former moderator of the editor of world who served later as a strategist, communications Chief of the Prime Minister - was arrested in the case of hacking of phone about an hour after the appearance of Mr. Cameron.

Mr. Cameron also suggested that Rebecca Brooks - the CEO of the newspaper for the U.K. by News Corp. Unit and a personal friend of the Prime Minister - should resign.

Speaking at a Conference of media from its offices in Downing Street, Mr Cameron announced an independent inquiry headed by a judge, to investigate the telephone hacking world news of the tabloid newspaper allegations, to begin after a current police investigation ends.

He said also would be an investigation in culture media in the United Kingdom, which said, would ideally begin this summer and has proposed that all parties - including politicians from the country - have a lot to answer for. "The truth is that we were all in this together," said Mr. Cameron. "Yes, including me."

Mr. Cameron's comments followed a dramatic week in which News Corp. decided to shutter the 168 years of the world news to put an end to the controversy that has engulfed the tabloid. The saga involves the use of the journal of private detectives to obtain personal information about celebrities, politicians and other public figures, including through failure in the mailbox of the voice of mobile phone, a practice called hacking phone several years ago.

Mr. Cameron personally was attracted in the scandal through Mr. Coulson, his advisor of former media Chief who has been editor in Chief of the news of the world between 2003 and 2007. Mr. Coulson resigned from his role of Advisor Mr. Cameron in January in the growing pressure of prosecution and investigation on the tactical reports deployed to the tabloid he was editor in Chief.

Despite two actions a few years ago, police were forced to reopen the inquiry earlier this year as more information surfaced area, mainly through civil proceedings by those alleging were victims of phone hacking.

Friday, Mr. Cameron has said that he takes full responsibility for his decision to hire Mr. Coulson, but defends the decision, saying he believed that it was only fair to judge on the work that he has in his Office. "The decision to hire him was mine and mine alone, and I take full responsibility for it,", said Mr. Cameron. He stopped short of saying that it was a mistake and described Mr. Coulson as a friend.

An hour later, the friend was in custody. Police British Friday said they arrested a 43 - year man, with regard to allegations of corruption and illegally intercepted voice messages. According to a person familiar with the issue, the arrested man is Andy Coulson, editor for the paper from 2003 to 2007 and resigned in communication from the Prime Minister head earlier this year.

It is the sixth person arrested since the case was reopened this year and the highest executive paper or business to be arrested. None of the arrested persons were charged. Mr. Coulson could not be reached for comment Friday.

The scandal has led to calls for the resignation of Ms. Brooks, Executive Director of the unit of the company U.K. newspaper, News International, which was News Editor in Chief of the world until 2003, during the time of the hacking of telephone of the murdered girl. Ms. Brooks, which since then has become one of top lieutenants to the newspaper for the UK by News Corp. Unit, has until this received the support of News Corp., Director Executive of Rupert Murdoch and his son.

Mr Cameron, who is a friend of Ms. Brooks, at the press conference Friday referred to reports that Ms. Brooks recently offered his resignation. "I would have taken it," said Mr. Cameron.

Mr. Cameron also said the relationship between the British media and politicians have become too comfortable and politicians, were also responsible for insufficient control of the media industry. "Party leaders were so keen to win the support of newspapers we have closed their eyes,"he says. ".

Owners of newspapers and journalists of leading since long a close relationship with the politicians in power of Great Britain that are always take advantage of their peers in other countries. Marriage of 2009 Ms. Brooks was then Prime Minister Gordon Brown, Mr Cameron and other British law key decision makers. Publicly released records show Mr Brown entertain a steady stream of journalists in the country of the premier retreat of chequers as his predecessors had.

This close relationship sometimes gives journalists an angle to hit politicians, while the partisan coverage can fuel resentment among the legislators themselves. Labour say regulators that tabloids News Corp were particularly biased against them in the race until the elections of last may, with the Sun of switching allegiance on the eve of the discourse of main Conference of Mr. Brown.

Phone scandal piracy back in late 2005, when Prince William personnel alerted the possibility that the news of the world had hacked phone prince, triggering a police investigation, the authorities. Which led to the conviction of the Royal family of the corresponding journal Clive Goodman and Glenn Mulcaire, a private detective hired by the tabloid, who received sentences of four to six months ' imprisonment, respectively, for the phone of piracy.

Mr. Coulson resigned as editor-in-Chief of the newspaper after these statements of guilt saying: he took the responsibility of piracy that occurred on his watch that he did not know about it.

Mr. Coulson later became Director of communications of Mr. Cameron. But earlier this year, Mr. Coulson must resign again, saying advertising continues around the case made its difficult position.

On Tuesday he becomes a player when it appeared that News International had spent on the e-mails suggesting that Mr. Coulson, in the edition of this newspaper, may know the tabloid paid police officers for more information.

"But we need to lead NASA," he added. "That said, I fully recognize that our country faces a debt crisis because, frankly, politicians in both parties spent recklessly for decades, and will require that Washington finally live within its means and for the leaders to make difficult choices on what are the priorities of our country." Woman stands at the top of the page in the male Culture of tabloid - New York Times

Requested A if it had never paid the police for more information, Ms. Wade, a supremely confident and striking figure with his wild shock of red hair, seemed unfazed and undisturbed. She said: "We have paid the police for more information in the past,".

It was, in fact, admitting to breaking the law, which pointed out, shortly after him. But Ms. Wade backtracked also commonly that it had come, stating that she could not remember all the examples and procedures, it seemed, to the brush off the whole thing as an another cheeky, walk-the-line incident in a career full of them.

Now 43 and known as his new married Rebecca Brooks, she used a winning combination of luxury, effrontery, boldness and tenacity to thrive in the brutal world, dominated by British men in the tabloids. It has risen to become the CEO of the News International, subsidiary of British newspaper of Rupert Murdoch.

Its proximity with Mr Murdoch, which is to be considered something of a favorite daughter (although it has four actual daughters), has protected her during the recent scandal sinking of the company, then even that parliamentarians called on her to resign.

The saga of long reached new heights this week when British reports revealed that the telephone of Milly Dowler, a 13-year-old daughter, murdered in 2002, was disrupted by the news of the world after she disappeared, but before his body was found, hindering the police investigation and adding to the distress of his parents. Ms. Brooks was editor of the news of the world at the time. It has condemned the hacking and said that she knew nothing about it. She refused a request to be interviewed for this article.

In extraordinary scenes in the House of Commons on Wednesday, the legislature after the legislature - the majority of the Labour Party - have increased and demanded that Ms. Brooks, one of the most powerful characters in the British media and a woman much feared up to now, should go. Ms. Brooks should "take responsibility and to withdraw, said Ed Miliband, the leader of the labour party."

But Mr. Murdoch issued a resounding Ms. Brooks, saying that his company is committed to conduct a full investigation of the recent allegations, under the direction of Ms. Brooks.

A part of his approach is strategic, said Clare Enders media analyst, founder of Enders Analysis. Ms. Enders suggested that Ms. Brooks was functioning as something of a firewall for Mr. Murdoch - a buffer against the allegations. "If she resigns, is an admission of guilt," she said.

And a part is emotional. "Rupert Murdoch loves her - he is just very, very attached to it," said a person who knows both socially. "" "". To be honest, the thing most sensible that News Corp. may make is to get rid of Rebekah Brooks, but it does. »

Birth of Ms. Brooks has been constant and rapid. She began his career in the media of stable Murdoch as Secretary to the news of the world, rising to become editor of the paper only 11 years later. In 2003, she became editor of the tabloid the Sun, Britain's best-selling daily newspaper, before being promoted to his current position, two years ago.

Since then, it was known for his creativity in obtaining articles and its lack of qualms about the way in which she has. In 1994, she prepared for the News of the interview of the world with James Hewitt, a lover of Princess Diana, when booking a hotel suite and hire a team of "kit it with secret band units in various pots of flowers and cabinets", Piers Morgan, her former boss and now a host of talk show CNN, wrote in his memoirs"Leaders."

Once started, furious that the document was about to be dug by serialization of the Sunday Times of a biography of Prince Charles, Ms. Brooks herself disguised as a woman of both household and hid for two hours in the bathroom of the newspaper, according to Mr. Morgan. When the press began to roll, she ran, grabbed a copy newly the Sunday Times and he brought back to the news of the world - who proceeded to use the equipment, Word for Word, in his own paper the next day.

Founder of MySpace: We had Video Chat in 2004 - PC Magazine

In a long Google + post entitled "of Mark Zuckerberg first public response to Google +" founder of MySpace Tom Anderson shared some insights on the approach of the rivalry between reigning social network currently in the world, Facebook and the upstart by the search giant.

Anderson was primarily responding to the announcement of Facebook video conversations fueled by Skype and noted, without a sour grapes suspicion that MySpace had a video chat in 2004 and has even had video calling powered by Skype in 2007.

Speaking of Facebook-Skype agreement, Anderson wrote: "some experts complain that the technology is not new, but which is Canada…".The point is that people not really ready for it at the time - now is the time and FB at the base of users. »

MySpace video on the social network Pioneer may surprise those who judge a dinosaur which is only poverty that investors recently visited to buy News Corp. The social network leader is probably even a better place for acts of music showcase their goods, with customizable page design and a rich audio player. But Anderson seems to have moved, apparently considering MySpace social networking war. His last post was on 1 March, while he was very active on Google +.

On his Facebook page, he responded to questions of based on his old baby last week, saying "I get many questions about MySpace." For the record: I started MySpace in 2003, he sold in 2005 to NewsCorp for $ 580 million, and I stayed there to run it until April 2009. For the last years of its 2.5 was managed by another team and now a new owner bought MySpace's NewsCorp. As most of you, I am not a fan of the new MySpace, but was at the heart of the team in the right place. "Maybe the new owner has some good ideas."

In the most recent Google + post, Anderson continued to discuss Facebook lists and groups against Google + circles and summarizes the final set of social networking as follows: "the two are in reality very similar, but each is probably some things better than the other." Think about what each model is better is probably the key to unlocking what 'model' will "win". »
