Twitter financing business to 3.7 billion (Reuters) (Yahoo!) values

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Twitter raised $ 200 million in funding in a deal that values society microblogging to 3.7 billion, less than a year after that he began his first serious efforts to make money.

Twitter by 8% of internauts American (New York Times)

Despite its rapid growth and media, Twitter remains a niche service United States used by only 8% of American Internet users according to a new survey of Internet & American Life Project of Pew Research Center. The figures to paint a picture of a dynamic communication platform is still a ways off the coast of a common tool for most users.

When factoring that 74% of Americans currently use the Internet, said Pew Twitter is actually used by 6 per cent of all Americans and more popular among urban Hispanic, black and younger users. Among 18-29 years, 14 percent use Twitter, compared to 7% of 30-49-year-olds, the second group. Eighteen percent of Hispanic respondents and 13% of African-Americans reported use of Twitter, compared to 5% of white users. Eleven per cent urban respondents and 8% of participants in suburban said they used Twitter whereas 5% of the rural users said they did.

Twitter, the company of San Francisco for four years, recently declared that he 175 million users, with 370 000 new users sign every day and 65 percent of users living outside the United States. But it also shows that in the hands of its users, it is a powerful communications tool that serves both as a personal platform for sharing and a way to quickly deliver the news.
