Report: Giffords makes first public appearance - CBS News

Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, recovering from devastating January 8 ball, made his first appearance public Monday in support of her husband, astronaut Mark Kelly, ABC News reports.

Standing Giffords in her wheelchair in front of a crowd of Houston to tighten in his arms and kissing her husband when he received his spaceflight median, given all the astronauts return safely to their mission, the ABC reports.

The couple also recently announced that they have signed a book deal.
