Obama ceases to approve gay marriage - Associated Press

Obama stops short of approving gay (PA) marriage - 38 minutes ago

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama says gays are our friends and neighbours, and should be treated as any other American.

But days after the State of New York legalized same-sex marriage, arrested President short gay wedding sign itself.

He said that the New York decision was "a good thing", because the people discussed their views and made a decision. The President said that other States and communities will come to their own conclusions.

The President, who supports civil unions, said his views on gay marriage is "evolution". The White House, will hold a reception later Wednesday for groups of Gay Pride, but Obama was not ready for a press conference to announce a new position.

The President defended his record, including the removal of the ban on openly gay serving in the army.
